In Cub Scouting, kids and their families share fun and adventure while building character and learning values. The Scout Law: A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. Is woven into every part of the program. Scouts live these values while having a great time with friends and family.
The cub scout program
Cub Scouting is fun for the whole family. Kids start as their best selves and grow through hands-on learning, adventure, and achievement. Scouting builds confidence, character, and skills that prepare them for life—today and in the future.
Family Scouting
Our priority is to bring the benefits of Scouting to more youth, while remaining true to our mission to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes. We do this by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. We are excited to announce that our Cub Scouting program is now open to boys and girls. By welcoming both girls and boys into the program, even more youth will have access to the character development and values-based leadership that Scouting promises.

Who is a Cub Scout leader? You!
Cub Scout leaders are brave and selfless characters like you, with a vested interest in the success of our children, who volunteer their time to make the pack run. Pack 383 relies on volunteers to fill all of the leadership positions. Don't think for one minute you're on your own! We have an excellent, yet lightweight training program that will provide what you need.
To adults who are not currently Scout volunteers, we invite you to become a volunteer and share in the positive experiences of the Scouting program. All adult leaders are first required to take Youth Protection Training. When that is completed, training for each position in Cub Scouting is available on-line. There are additional training courses available through our Pack.
The Boy Scouts of America remains the foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training in America. Nearly 1.2 million adults provide leadership and mentoring to Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venturers.
